Ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Ireland and Pakistan square-off in a three-match T20I series in Clontarf, Dublin, beginning on May 10.
Ireland didn’t have the best of time in the bilateral series against Afghanistan recently, which they lost 2-1. However, ahead of the T20 World Cup, they are hoping to gather some confidence with some big performances against a team as good as any in the global scenario.
Pakistan played out a fantastic five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which ended 2-2 after the first match was washed out due to rain.
Paul Stirling was announced as the captain of the team that will take charge in this bilateral series, as well as the T20 World Cup, by Ireland Cricket. The stakes are high for the European side, who have a history of pulling out big results at this level.
However, in their most recent bilateral outing, Afghanistan took them down 2-1 in the series, despite taking the lead after a 38-run win in the first match.
Their leading run-scorer in T20I cricket and one of the senior-most batters in the side, Paul Stirling will bear the weight of scoring big runs once again. In his illustrious career, he has played many explosive knocks at the top and against Afghanistan, he got good starts early on but couldn’t capitalise. He would be raring to go score big at home to boost his confidence ahead of the big tournament.

As per today's betting tips,Ben White is likely to be Ireland’s best bowler in this contest. Joshua Little will not be joining the team for this series, which puts the onus on White to take up the crucial overs.
He registered figures of 4/20 in Ireland’s only victory against Afghanistan in the recently concluded bilateral series.

Pakistan’s fortunes at the T20 World Cup in recent years have been extremely shaky. The side ends up coming close but falters in crucial moments.
They are in decent touch, though, with most of their star players picking up crucial runs and wickets in the series against New Zealand. While Babar Azam is in good form at the top of the order, he has a decent enough support system to see this series through.
Babar Azam is closing in on 4,000 runs in T20 cricket, which will make him only the second cricketer in history to get there after Virat Kohli.
While Indian captain Rohit Sharma too is very close, he will not feature until June 5, giving Babar Azam an opening to score big and get there first. He scored 125 runs in five matches in the series against New Zealand and was Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in difficult batting conditions.

According to today's cricket odds, Abbas Afridi could turn out to be the best bowler for Pakistan. He assisted Shaheen Afridi well in the recently concluded bilateral against New Zealand and returned with five wickets.
Abbas Afridi is likely to partner up with the left-armer during the World Cup as well and bowling in the European conditions is something he would cherish.

Babar Azam is in top batting form currently and the way he has raced to the top of the scoring charts in 2024 is a testament to his ability. The Pakistani skipper is the leading run-scorer in T20 cricket this year, with 1,158 runs in 27 matches, which includes one ton and 11 half-centuries. He is also the only batter to score over 100 fours in 2024, having already scalped 128 of them.
As per our cricket toss prediction, the team winning the toss would prefer to bat first. Ireland has some very good high-scoring grounds, which produces very nice batting decks and adding to it are the boundary dimensions. So if Pakistan win the toss, they will look to put up a big total.
The weather conditions in Dublin are pretty cool, with the temperatures ranging from 10-15 degrees during game time.
The venue saw some pretty good high-scoring matches at the domestic and international level and we can expect some more of it in this contest.
According to today's cricket match prediction, Pakistan are the overwhelming favourites to produce not just a victory in the first match, but complete a cleansweep in the three-match series. They are the superior team in all departments and are expected to register a big win here.
