The second semi-final is a contest between two teams who have seen more of each other than their own families. Australia and South Africa have met six times this year, with the Proteas winning four. With recent head-to-heads often important when it comes to cricket betting tips, one could be forgiven for reckoning that South Africa should be the favourites for this one instead of outsiders with 1XBet.

The toss prediction is pretty straightforward for Eden Gardens. We expect the team that wins the toss to bat first. Indeed, both teams will be desperate to do so; Australia because South Africa have struggled in the chase and South Africa, well, because they agree.

They’ve looked unsure batting second against Pakistan and Afghanistan and downright hopeless against India and Netherlands.

South Africa most sixes @2.2

This is a solid, old-fashioned strategy to start us off for semi-final two. Bet a wrong price. South Africa are outsiders here but by our reckoning, or rather the cold, hard facts, this should be a choice affair. In other words 1XBet should be unable to split these two on the market.

No team has hit more sixes that South Africa. Not far behind are Australia, though, thanks to Glenn Maxwell’s extraordinary double century against Afghanistan. He’s hit 22 of their 86. That’s four behind South Africa.

It’s a tight power-batting contest, then. With South Africa showing marginally more muscle and being less reliant on a small group of hitters, we think this is a value pick.

Marco Jansen over 1.5 wickets @2.1

Left-arm pace bowlers have made a habit of dominating World Cups. A southpaw quick has won, or tied, on the top tournament bowler outright in five of the last six. Their specific angle of attack has caused batters problems.

Jansen is having an excellent World Cup. And although he might not make up the five-wicket gap between him and leader Adam Zampa (17 plays 22) he can give it a right go at Eden Gardens.

The rangy quick has caused Australia significant problems this year by angling the ball across the Aussie batters and getting lift. In the six head-to-heads he has taken an impressive 11 wickets. With that ratio of wickets to games on the match-up and 17 in nine in the tournament, it’s hardly a risky pick.

Back over Heinrich Klaasen over 25 runs @1.83

Heinrich Klaasen is possibly the most destructive white-ball batter in the world. South Africa need a big performance from their talisman and there’s a good chance they get one according to the numbers.

Klaasen has an excellent match-up record against the main four Aussie bowlers; Pat Cummins, Mitch Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa. He averages 63 against that foursome having faced 216 balls and scored 252 runs with only four outs.

Considering that record, Klaasen will be a popular cricket betting odds wager at 6 with 1XBET to be top South Africa runscorer. At those prices 1xBet give him a 16.7% chance of winning. On two-year win rate data we know Klaasen is a true 23.7% chance. That’s a very hefty edge in the gamblers’ favour.

If you prefer a less risky wager, then this runs quote for the match for Klaasen should provide an easier winner. The musclebound hitter has six wins at that quote from 12 against the Aussies. In the last two years against all opposition Klaasen would have won 15 times in 24 innings at the quote.

There’s also a suspicion that he is due a score in this tournament. Since his demolition job against England he has had a relatively quiet time of it. Australia beware.
